How I got into 3D modelling

My interest in 3D modelling began pretty much as soon as I got my first PC, and was primarily motivated by creating mods for Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. I closely followed 3D Studio Max tutorials, this led me to creating my own fictional weapons and guns and adding them into the game.

During this time the only way to find downloadable 3D models online was via pages like TurboSquid which only showed an image as a preview. This all changed when I discovered Sketchfab in 2016, they allow upload and full interactive display of 3D models using their in-built webGL renderer! That was a gamechanger. I knew their page would eventually become big, now they are essentially the youtube for 3D models. Since then I have switched to using the free software Blender full-time, and have been creating models off-and-on, expanding my style, and just having fun re-creating objects in three dimensions, texturing them, and overall becoming a better 3D artist in my free time.
